This was developed by Claudius Dornier Jr. It is a turboprop-powered amphibious aircraft built largely of composite materials. The Dornier family have a spin-off company and project, the Dornier Seastar. Dornier MedTech also manufactures laser devices for a wide range of applications. Dornier Medtech manufactures medical equipment, such as the Dornier S lithotriptor, HM3, Compact Delta to treat kidney stones. The medtech division was sold to an investment company and now bears the name Dornier MedTech. Other subsidiaries became part of the EADS. Dornier 228 production was taken over by Swiss manufacturer RUAG, who then sold it off to General Atomics in 2020. ![]() Asian groups continued to show interest in its 728 version in August 2004, but production was not restarted. Production of its 328 Jet was acquired by US company Avcraft. ![]() This company became insolvent in early 2002. In 1996, the majority of Dornier Aircraft was acquired by Fairchild Aircraft, forming Fairchild Dornier. The rest of the company was split into several subsidiaries for defence, satellites, medtech and aircraft. As part of this transaction, Lindauer Dornier GmbH was spun off, creating a separate, family-owned firm, concentrating on textile machinery design and manufacturing. In 1985, Dornier became a member of the Daimler-Benz group, integrating its aeronautic assets with the parent company. By 2013 a total of 117 Dornier 228 aircraft had been produced by HAL with plans to build 20 more during 2013-14. ![]() In 1983, Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) acquired a production licence for the Dornier 228 and manufactured the aircraft for the Asian market. In 1974 it joined a joint venture with French aircraft manufacturers Dassault-Breguet to develop the Alpha Jet. Post-war, Dornier re-established itself with successful STOL Do 27 and Do 28 utility planes. Dornier also developed the fastest piston-engined fighter of the war, the twin-engined Do 335, which was too late to see service.Īfter WWII, aircraft production was again forbidden in Germany, and Dornier relocated to Spain and then to Switzerland where the firm provided aeronautical consultancy services until returning to Germany in 1954. Dornier developed the similar looking Do 217 from the Do 17 but it was a larger and completely new design. It was later developed into a nightfighter to counter the RAF bomber offensive. As a medium bomber it saw service during the early part of World War II, particularly during the Battle of Britain. Production continued in Germany and it was developed to fill multiple roles for the Luftwaffe. Dornier then developed it further as a military aircraft, with a prototype bomber flying in 1935, and in 1937 it was used in by the German Condor Legion during the Spanish Civil War. It first flew in 1934 as a mailplane for Lufthansa but due to its narrow fuselage (hence its nickname) it was not commercially viable and was passed over. The success of the Wal family encouraged the development of derivatives, and of more advanced successors, such as the Do 18, and Do 24 which saw service in several armed forces, including German, into World War II.ĭornier's most important World War II military aircraft design was the Do 17, nicknamed The Flying Pencil. Once the Nazi government came to power and abandoned the treaty's restrictions, Dornier resumed production in Germany.ĭassault-Breguet/Dornier Alpha Jet of the UK defence technology organisation QinetiQ Foreign factories licence-building Dornier products included CMASA and Piaggio in Italy, CASA in Spain, Kawasaki in Japan, and Aviolanda in the Netherlands. Dornier built its aircraft outside Germany during much of this period due to the restrictions placed on German aircraft manufacturers by the Treaty of Versailles: locations included Altenrhein, Switzerland, 12 km from Zeppelin's Lindau (Bodensee) location. Dornier's successful landplane airliners, including the Komet ( Comet) and Merkur ( Mercury), were used by Lufthansa and other European carriers during the 1920s and early 30s. The record-breaking 1924 Wal (English: Whale) was used on many long distance flights and the Do X set records for its immense size and weight. Originally Dornier Metallbau, Dornier Flugzeugwerke took over Flugzeugbau Friedrichshafen production facilities ( Weingarten, Warnemünde, and the former Zeppelin shed at Manzell) when it failed in 1923.ĭornier was well known between the two world wars as a manufacturer of large, all-metal flying boats and of land based airliners.

The light with the same name from the 9.0 library has the LW falloff code (which nevertheless operates differently than you would expect from the parameters of the object, which indicate that light should not extend beyond a fixed distance.Lightworks is a video editing solution that has established a reputation in cinema history, as it is the preferred video editor in the creation of some of the finest films in Hollywood such as Pulp Fiction, Hugo, LA Confdential, and The Wolf of Wall Street. For example, the "General Light" object from 8.1 will honor the max-light-distance parameter with the internal engine, but with LW, light illuminates surfaces far in the distance. They don't have the LW falloff code in them. On a related matter, in case this has not come up in the forum: don't use 8.1 lights with LW in 9.0. just went from almost no light to tons of light at the same settings. Closing AC and starting over with a fresh file and just a 'cavern' created with walls/slabs to test the lights I again found this behavior of almost no light emission. Well, the trick was that I came across a so-far-non-reproducible bug. What's the trick to getting the window lights to add observable / meaningful illumination? I suppose I should open the objects and dig around. Finally, I changed the color to white and intensity to 100% and with no other lights (so that I could see what contribution was being made), there was almost no light generated at all. last night, and couldn't get much illumination from them. You can have the light cones show in the rendering - as cheezy as that is, but we still can't make particles in the atmosphere. perhaps the panels themselves need to be tinted. This challenge points out the problem you'll have using real light to model the individual glass panels. Lighting a canopy is difficult, but when a thing is hard to model in the computer, it is going to present a challenge in the real world. ![]() My expereince that glass canopies are usualy glared-out when the sky is black, so we need to find a time of day - usually right after sunset - where there's enough light in the sky to help model the elements, yet it is dark enough for their inner light to glow. We would be overwhelmed with light sources if this were the case in the model, so we cheat with fewer lights, but they still must be carefully placed for effect. The other thing is that every real situation has many lights meticulously focused on many parts of the scene. In real world terms, grime falls on glass, making it more "visible" - nothing is as perfect as in the model. Excuse the rant, but how does this work in the real world? You see light in glass because of refraction and reflection. ![]() ![]() Expect over half of your resources to go towards defense, and the chance of your base being overrun and destroyed is actually real and present unlike in base factorio (default presets) where lets be honest - outside of your first run biters are more of a nuisance than anything else. Rampart (maybe some armored biters or other extra biter mods as well?): Deathworld game on steroids. Warptorio 2: offers a completely different run where you are effectively building and defending a limited sized bunker (instead of building a sprawling base) and everything outside the bunker is liable to be lost when your bunker teleports to a new zone (every 10-15 min or so?) If you are looking for a different vibe outside of standard factorio or maybe you tried playing with higher biter sizes and want to dial it up some more try either Warptorio 2 or Rampart (with high biter values). However in terms of which ones I would recommend. If you are looking for the ultimate challenge. Pretty much everything else is of this same complexity or higher. Instead of going ore=>plates you pretty much go ore=>crushed ore=>(several steps)=> metallic ore=>(many steps here)=>ingots=>(smelting)=>molten metal=>coils=>plates. These are really all rehashes of B&A and really dial up the complexity. Learning and using combinators is absolutely mandatory for this mod.ī&A (usually together, though they can be played separately), Seablock, 248k, and similar. Setting up the rockets, building space ships, planning on just how to get that lucrative planet full of enemies and with 0 water actually viable. The true fun of this mod is the logistics necessary between planets/asteroids/orbits/etc. While it isnt as complex (in terms of recipes and production paths) as the later mod overhauls, it doesnt need to be. This is kind of in a category of it own due to the sheer scale and polish. Finally getting into the 'total overhaul' territory - this is where old recipes are few and far between, though the game is aimed more towards making the game slightly more challenging and interesting in a 'new game +' kind of way rather than the 'extreme complexity' kind of way. Ex: warptorio makes base building drastically different, rampart changes biter attacks to make the defense much more important, AAI vehicles makes the game into more of an RTS. These mods alter the gameplay more so than the items/recipes, making a new run exciting/different even with most of the recipes being the same as before. Warptorio(2), rampart, AAI Vehicles (many mods). Basically they add new items and recipes, but more of an added on-top of factorio rather than a full overhaul. In terms of increasing difficulty I would put them in the following order:įactorio extended, Spaceblock (seablock just without all the B&A), and other mods that can really be considered as factorio+. ![]() ![]() Thanks for any recommendations you can give! I'm assuming the game has not changed substantially since the release. If the mod ramps into that at the same level as the normal difficulty curve, that's great! But I'm not looking for something super complex at the start. That isn't what I'm looking for, at least to start. I know that a lot of Factorio players love to push the boundaries and play mods that make the game substantially more complex and difficult. However, I am looking for ways to spice it up a bit. After 700 hours of Satisfactory, I think I'm ready to go back to Factorio and play it for real with minimum blueprints other than ones I make myself (I know the games are very different in reality, but I believe the skills I learned can be applied in some ways). However, I feel like that playthrough was kinda robbed by my overuse of the copy function of others' designs. Did my first rocket and played a bit after that. I played through Factorio shortly after release. ![]() Continued abuse of our services will cause your IP address to be blocked indefinitely. Sometimes the decisions we make can be wrong but that is way better than standing and not choosing anything. What we decide today is going to affect our future. In the beginning we think we would choose a better path than previous path, but the road never seemed to end. The road we chooses is full of challenges and needs to be explored. In this scenario we have to be more careful about our decision. By depending on time we can’t really lookup that why we made mistake. In our lives sometimes we make some wrong decisions too. Not all decisions have to be clearly thought out or over-thought. ![]() In this poem there is a line that is “I shall be telling this with a sigh”, Robert Frost shows a sign of regret, meaning he made the wrong decision. Towards the end, there is a drastic change of the indecisive tone to a tone of regret. We learn that this is really a life decision, and not just a choice between two paths. Throughout the poem, we learn that there are two paths to take, but the traveler, who we suppose is Robert Frost, is uncertain of which one to take. “Then took the other, as just as fair, and having perhaps the better claim” are verses where we can clearly see that this is a decision in to which he is putting a lot of thought. This poem expresses life, because in life, there are important decisions that in some instances can make a really big change, sometimes it’s hard to find your way out of something, and there are many possible ways you can do it. The two paths symbolize the life of the traveler and all his life decisions. In this poem we come to realize that life is a combination of decisions and fate. The author helps us better understand the message by his use of tone and literary devices such as metaphors and symbolism. To understand this poem you have to have understanding of life’s meaning. “The Road Not Taken” uses two paths as a symbol of a life decision. The poem, “The Road Not Taken” by Robert Frost states that in life we come upon many decisions, and there are points where we have to let fate take the lead. ![]() No part of this publication may be translated into other languages, reproduced or utilized in any form or by any means, electronic or mechanical, including photocopying, recording, microcopying, or by any information storage and retrieval system, without permission in writing from the publisher.ĭrug Dosage: The authors and the publisher have exerted every effort to ensure that drug selection and dosage set forth in this text are in accord with current recommendations and practice at the time of publication. The procedure for the detection of GATA1 mutations was described previously. The following laboratory data were obtained: a complete blood cell count at diagnosis including WBC and the percentage of blasts in the peripheral blood, coagulation parameters, liver enzymes (alanine aminotransferase and aspartate aminotransferase), and total bilirubin. ![]() ![]() The following clinical data were collected: sex, gestational age, birth weight, time of diagnosis, symptom at diagnosis, and clinical presentation. This study was approved by the Ethics Committee of Hirosaki University Graduate School of Medicine, and all clinical samples were obtained with informed consent from the parents of all patients with TAM, in accordance with the Declaration of Helsinki. 22 Nevertheless, the impact of a quantitative deficit of the factor on the pathogenesis of TAM and ML-DS has not been examined. 21 These observations indicate that the expression levels of GATA1 are crucial for the proper development of erythroid and megakaryocytic cells and compromised GATA1 expression is a causal factor in leukemia. 19, 20 Mice harboring a heterozygous GATA1 knockdown allele frequently develop erythroblastic leukemia. Reduced expression (or complete absence) of GATA1 in megakaryocytes leads to increased proliferation and deficient maturation as well as a reduced number of circulating platelets. ![]() The analysis of megakaryocyte-specific knockdown of GATA1 in vivo has revealed a critical role for this factor in megakaryocytic development. These findings strongly suggest that the qualitative deficit of GATA1 contributes to the genesis of TAM and ML-DS. 15–18 The mutations lead to exclusive expression of a truncated GATA1 protein (referred to as GATA1s) translated from the second methionine on exon 3. Our study indicates that quantitative differences in mutant protein levels have significant effects on the phenotype of TAM and warrants further investigation in a prospective study.īlast cells in most patients with TAM and ML-DS have mutations in exon 2 of the gene coding the transcription factor GATA1, 8–14 which is essential for normal development of erythroid and megakaryocytic cells. 001) and lower white blood cell counts ( P =. Phenotypic analyses of 66 TAM patients with GATA1 mutations revealed that GATA1s low mutations were significantly associated with a risk of progression to ML-DS ( P <. Based on our estimates of GATA1s protein expression, the mutations were classified into GATA1s high and low groups. We show here that the mutations affected the amount of mutant protein. To test whether the spectrum of transcripts derived from the mutant GATA1 genes affects the expression levels, we classified the mutations according to the types of transcripts, and investigated the modalities of expression by in vitro transfection experiments using GATA1 expression constructs harboring mutations. However, there are no reports on the expression levels of GATA1s in TAM blasts, and the risk factors for the progression to ML-DS are unidentified. Most cases of TAM carry somatic GATA1 mutations resulting in the exclusive expression of a truncated protein (GATA1s). Twenty percent to 30% of transient abnormal myelopoiesis (TAM) observed in newborns with Down syndrome (DS) develop myeloid leukemia of DS (ML-DS). |
